Packing for Vacations..

I am so excited to go away for my vacations...
Last year we (my family and I) din't get to go away..so this year I am super charged and prepared to make the most of these 10 days of freedom from routines and life in general back at home..
Not that I am not happy or thankful to God for the life I have ..but change is good.
And its nice to sort of get away with the normal everyday dealings and go out, have fun..I feel it gives you a break from your life so that when you get back to it after the vacations you get a better perspective on your life...

I love the whole idea of packing things and suitcases all around the place and when everyone's in a rush to pack the whole house and when you just have a few hours on hand and sooooo much to get done..all that freaking out is part of fun ..well not so much when it's happening but afterwards when we laugh over it...hahah..=p
and specially when my dad loses his temper for things not happening on time..and etc etc..lol..=p
i always like to secretly film those scenes..so that I can show it to them later..and its fun watching back on all the memories..=)

Now coming onto the packing strategy that I have..
I actually have recently picked up on it...and it seems quite fool proof but lets see what happens as I experience from it in the next 11 days..

We are a family of 6.
and instead of having an individual suitcase for each one I decided to keep all my pajamas and shirts of all siblings in one suitcase.
And how I packed this suitcase was that I folded all the clothes into thin sheets and then rolled them into a cylindrical shape..I feel it just doesn't take a lot less space then folding them in a regular way but also weighs less...??!yes!!
If you keep things in place and use the space smartly it weighs less than just throwing in clothes at random..(ever wondered why dirty laundry always weighs heavy??...cause we randomly through it all around instead of neatly stacking it in place..but why would you neatly stack your dirty laundry when its going to get ashed anyway??..hehehe)

So I managed to fit in 40 pajamas and 40 shirts in a suitcase..dividing the siblings per corner.

Coming onto the next suitcase.
I chose a different color for this one..as it would be easy to spot it put from the other ones.
In this I have kept all my parents clothes..exactly the same way as I kept in the previous one.
However since parents, obviously would be having lesser clothes than ours as they are 2 and we are 4...
so I managed to pack their into "thin parcel" shape-like as oppose to ours that was a cylindrical shape.

Next suitcase is a very interesting suitcase..and once again I chose a different color suitcase to characterize it.
I decided to keep all the personal care, beauty care, shoes and other miscellaneous items in it, to avoid any confusions and to demarcate those items.

So I kept separate bags and titled them with the respective names so that they don't get mixed up with belongings and most importantly to make it an easy grab and hassle- free.

I kept a medicine box with all the medicines that we may or may not need but just in case to be on the safe side I decided to arm myself with them as tourist areas usually over price basic medications and not having them on hand may lead to unnecessary trouble..hence I have kept a first aid box cum medicine box.

Then I took some khaki papers and wrapped each shoe in it separately and kept them in a plastic bag and kept it on one side of the suitcase. The other side had all the towels stacked up and I slid my makeup and skin care bag inside the towels to cushion them to avoid any breakage as the luggage often comes across a lot of  harshness...

Rest of the miscellaneous items were kept in plastic bags such as cords, wires and etc separately.

Then I have kept one really big suitcase along with me..in which I may throw some random things at the very last minute. Just so it has something in it rather than going empty.
As the main purpose for it is to keep my dirty laundry in.
I find it a lot simpler to toss all of the dirty laundry in a separate suitcase than to keep them in the same suitcase that has all your clean clothes in.

As a carry on..I would be taking a huge bag..that is a purse cum bag..its very edgy at the same time very spacious.I would be carrying a kit that has some of my makeup for touch ups..a doedrant cause you never know when you might need one..=p..
a perfume, a pack of wipes, my camera, my phone, chewing gum and etc...
So other than a few errands here and there I think I am quite prepared for this trip and once again..very excited!!!:D

So this is my style of packing.
And so far I am enjoying it a lot...hopefully it will treat me good on my vacations.

Packing: makeup!!

My Makeup Kit.
The lipstick/lip gloss section.

The face makeup section.

Eye makeup, brushes.

This is how I pack my makeup whenever I'm travelling..

Eye makeup section plus a few brushes.
It is very convenient and neat to carry my makeup in this concise yet spacious kit.
It is better than a kit as it doesn't become too big after keeping a lot of stuff in it and doesn't take a lot of space either as the strap wraps around the kit cinches it tight.
Face Makeup
It is also a very neat way to carry your makeup as I have divided the 3 compartments into eyes, face and lips makeup...which makes it even more easy to grab what I want at a whim.
The other nice thing about this that I find is that it has a mesh or a net sort of thing in the front which allows you to see whats inside without having to fish through all the stuff in the pocket.
As you can see I won't be taking a lot of stuff with me, as I wont be wearing a full face of makeup every single day..as It is very hot these days and I do not like wearing a lot of makeup outdoors...I see no point in wearing makeup when it's going to melt right away as soon as I step under the sun!..yes..I perspire a lott on my face..!!

I guess I'll really enjoy my new makeup bag from Donna Karran that I actually received as a gift..=)
Lipsticks/ Lip Gloss
Can't wait to use it and then write an update as to how my experience with it was..

Travelling

Travelling is probably the most favorite of my interests..
If I could I would love to do a back-pack trip to Europe ..and all over the world!!

The best things I like about travelling id the food..=p
yes I am a big foodie..and enjoy tasting different kinds of foods...At home one gotta be extremely watchful as to what to eat and what not to..so when i'm travelling I like to forget about all the fuss of diet controls and etc..

Other thing i enjoy about vacations is the sleeping in without any specific routine that you're bound to follow unlike at home.
It also gives me a break from the normal life that I have at home...so that when I get back home, it almost feels like a fresh start or a clear mind to start my life back home. It almost is like side lining yourself from all or any of your daily worries or problems and looking back to them which I feel gives me a better or different perspective on my life..It also fills in a lot of positivity in my mind as when I am happy it gives me more control over my mind and body...and any hindrances of life are just more like a life package than a problem..:)

The absolute best thing that I like to do for my vacations is to pray to God for a better understanding of my religion and just simply talking to God seeking His help to help me live my life in a better way with others as well as with myself.

While I'll be there, I have planned to go on a little shopping spree...=p
Its basically the things that I have been planning to get for a while..so i'm pretty excited to get my hands on them..:)
Also, I'm kinda tied between deciding whether I should purchase a laptop or the phone thats on my wishlist...
However, I'm pretty sure i'l end up buying a laptop...as I feel that would be a better choice to invest in rather than buying a phone when i already have one that works perfectly fine and is quite decent in providing me with what I need..nevertheless, the phone I want is an upgrade of what I already have on hand...which means a camera thats a lot better than my current phones..a lot memory(GB) on it...and last but not the least a 'TOUCH SCREEN'...
However, I still feel I should go out and buy a laptop as it has way more necessary features in it that I would like to have...
But ammmmm....i'm confused..
heheheh....
so lets see what happens..

So its almost a 10 day holiday that my family and I have planned...

And once again I am....very "excited" for this trip and am really looking forward to it...
=D
